Job Title: Junior System Administrator

SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the support and maintenance of TNCI’s systems and infrastructure within the IT department. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and thrive in a small team environment. The right candidate must be proficient in Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2000/2003, Windows XP, and MS Exchange 2003.
  • Maintenance and Support of TNCI systems
  • Understanding of Microsoft technologies to necessary equipment to support internal and external facing systems
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of issues relative to systems
  • Management of systems to include Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, physical and virtual environments, storage technologies, backups, Exchange, Symantec Anti-Virus, patch management and thin client deployments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Provide system administration support using Windows server technologies and tools
  • Support of Microsoft servers, backups, DNS, Active Directory
  • User account creation in AD and other supported applications
  • End user support including remote users for terminal and remote access
  • Support of servers in both physical and virtual environment
  • Support of storage technologies
  • Understanding and support of both internal environments and customer facing servers environments
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft networks
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2000/2003, Windows XP, and MS Exchange 2003
  • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (including Group Policies)
  • Terminal Services
  • Knowledge of SNMP monitoring
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Solid Oral & Written Communication skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in system support and maintenance
  • Telecommunications experience preferred, but not essential
